You like learning things, going to museums, science lectures, and you can't get your regular crew to go with you. Perhaps you went to engineering school, but you use hair conditioner anyway. Event suggestions encouraged. And, if there's something you want to go to that our organizers can't make, we can post the event anyway t …
You’re in your 30’s or 40’s with a great career, maybe an advanced degree or two, but don’t have unlimited time to meet new people on a regular basis to date. You have the flexibility and stability to do some really cool things when you aren’t working but are missing someone to go with you. You work for a company that is known by just letters, an engineering firm, a software start up, a biotech company or something similar and would like to meet a person that understands the demands of your job …

Venture outdoors briefly to find people to do things indoors with! ("With whom to do things indoors", for you grammar nerds.) We aim to be Portland's premier (and at this point only) pan-geek rolling mini-con on Meetup. Let's crawl pubs AND dungeons, settle some fucking Catan, and otherwise prove ourselves unworthy of the respect of other adults!
For many years I had regular Friday night social gatherings of close friends. We'd often vent our frustrations at the stupidity of the system around us that glorified superficial choices and failed to support people. Sometimes we just hung out, other times we'd work on a project together. We'd show up at a friends house with five vehicles for a one-day household move that ended with pizza and laughter instead of frustration and stubbed toes. We had movie nights and made mead and hosted dinne …

Artisans assemble! The Artisans Network is for those looking to get together discussing ideas and/or seeking help with individual & group projects concerning costumes that are related to gaming, anime, sci-fi, halloween, movies, cartoons, etc... We've started this group because we realize that there's a lot of creative people out there that are building these works of art. Whenever we pass by or attend conventions (Comic/Gaming) or get togethers (Halloween/Themed Parties) and see the work that …
Hard to believe there is no scifi/dork meet up within 50 miles of the UpperValley NH/VT. I'm starting this group until someone tells me I'm wrong and where to go to meet all the Doctor Who, Asimov, Whedon, DUNE, Eureka, SciFi Etc. folks.
We are the older generation of nerds and geeks. In the Boston area we fueled the Massachusetts Miracle on 128, and we're aging out. Some of us have put on thirty-five or forty years of Boskones -- the annual family reunion. And some of us go to Readercon...and Arisia...and Lunacon...and Disclave...and Balticon...seems like every weekend could be a con or three these days! But it's expensive and a lot of logistics and some of us don't travel as easily as we used to. We're slowing down. Some of us …
